The countdown to the previously announced government reshuffle has begun, since most government sources are pinpointing it to taking place on Whit Monday.
Over the weekend, the Prime Minister will be spending a lot of time with his close associates and will be holding communiques with PASOK president Mr. Evangelos Venizelos, in order to solve the new government’s roster “puzzle”.
People close to Mr. Samaras are stating that “the groundwork will be done, but do not be surprised if it is delayed by a few days”.
The “key” for the reformation, however, is the new Minister of Finance, since current FinMin Mr. Yannis Stournaras will be placed as Government of the Bank of Greece, instead.
The possibilities concerning who his successor will be, are many. The most likely, however, is that the Prime Minister’s close associate Mr. Chrysanthos Lazaridis will take up the role of FinMin. He is considered a good choice since he is very aware of the intricacies of financial matters and has been a member of the government’s negotiating team for two years already.
