Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu stated that if the Greek Cypriot side sees the Cyprus Turks as a minority and does not want to give them their rights, then no agreement can be reached.
Mr. Eroglu said that he sat at the negotiations table as a leader and with a will to find a solution, and he is working towards that mutually acceptable goal. He added that he wants an agreement that “would enable both peoples” to live in peace and harmony.
Indicating that negotiations are ongoing in order to determine whether there is common ground with the Greek Cypriots, Mr. Eroglu said that the Greek Cypriot side is a member of the EU and the UN, and should be the one to decide if they want to work with them or not.
