Eurogroup President Jeroen Dijsselbloem made a statement following the Eurogroup meeting yesterday stating that the largest part of the meeting was focused on how to step up growth in the area. He said that Mr. Hardouvelis informed the Eurogroup that the Greek authorities aimed to conclude the first set of milestones by the end of June in order to secure the disbursement of the next loan tranche, worth 1 billion euros.
“We have also been reassured that the process for appointing the successor of the Secretary General of Public Revenues will be an open and transparent process,” said Mr. Dijsselbloem. “We stressed that this is very important for the overall credibility of the reforms surrounding the Greek tax administration, an issue which has been on our agenda for some time and has the strong attention of the ministers.”
