Queen Elizabeth decided to give Prince William and Kate Middleton an impressive 10 million euro gift.
According to British media, the palace decided to buy an Augusta A109S Grand helicopter, so that the couple wouldn’t have to fly with different helicopters to attend their royal obligations.
This specific model can stay in the sky for over four hours before it needs a refill and boasts a maximum speed of 180mph, “for when Wills needs to race home to change the nappies”, writes the Daily Mirror.
However it remains unclear whether 32 year old William will pilot the Agusta himself, although he is a qualified pilot with the RAF.
The new helicopter will be paid for by the Sovereign Grant – public funds given to the Monarch by the Government every year. For this financial year, the sum is over 40 million euros.
