Isabella Rossellini’s “Green Porno” is being staged at Piraeus 260 within the framework of the Athens Festival.The show premiered yesterday and is to be repeated on June 26. During last night’s premiere, Greek audiences were impressed by the great actress who introduced the performance by saying that the “porn” in the title doesn’t refer to illicit pornography.

The humorous stage monologue performed by Ms. Rossellini is an offshoot from the legendary series of eight short movies on animal sexual behaviour, which were conceived, written and interpreted by the great star herself.

Dressed in a black kaftan and wearing a string of pearls, the great actress changed costumes to be transformed from a sadomasochistic worm to a hamster with feelings of matricide to a homsexual dolphin or lizard to a hermaphrodite and other beloved creatures of the animal world.

The muse of David Lynch and Lancome model for over a decade showcased her thespian talents, unafraid to leave her comfort zone in order to convey a message of acceptance regarding sexual diversity and love of the animal kingdom.
