The Greek Prime Minister Mr. Antonis Samaras in his interview in the German newspaper Handelsblatt , stated that Greece will not need more bailouts.
“No, we will not need it,” replied the Prime Minister when asked by the newspaper if the country will need a third bailout.
Mr. Samaras even disputed the IMF’s estimates of a financing gap of 12.5 billion euro in the years to follow.
“I do not see such a gap, because we’ve already covered it to a large extent. We have many ideas on how to cover the rest, without taking any new loans, “he said, adding that the Troika many times in the past had to revise its predictions because Athens surpassed its goals.
The Greek Prime Minister also said that he is confident that Greece will emerge from recession and through growth the country’s finance will heal.
“The country will be able to honor its agreement with the creditors in reducing debt from 175% of GDP today to just below 110% by 2022. This will be possible if” all parties honor their commitments “”he said, stressing that our country needs to move on with the reforms, and that creditors should themsleves” honor what they said: To discuss debt relief, once Greece has achieved a primary surplus”.
