Mr. Alexopoulos, who has recently departed from the Parliamentary group of the Greek far right party of Golden Dawn, is about to press charges against his former fellow-MPs on the grounds of false accusations.

More specifically, they claim that he received a bribe in order to drop out.

Among the members of the parliament-who animatedly waved 20-euro bills during the discussion on lifting his immunity or not- who are about to be charged is the party’s incarcerated General Secretary’s wife, Nikos Mihaloliakos, Ms Eleni Zaroulia.

Mr Alexopoulos has also denounced the threats that he and his family continue to receive, aimed at forcing him to give up his office.
