Labour Minister Yiannis Vroutsis stated in the “Real News” newspaper on Saturday, that “We are ready to examine the further reduction in social security contributions by an extra percentage point, at the end of the current year”.

Vroutsis added, that “the reduction in contributions will drastically improve the compliance of employers against their employees and the social security funds”.

The minister disclosed, that the Labour Ministry is contemplating issuing electronic unemployment cards which can be renewed simply through a personal computer, so as to end the queues Greece’s 1 million unemployed people have to endure.
