According to information from the Maximou Mansion the most likely scenario is for Minister of National Defence Mr. Dimitris Avramopoulos to be placed in the position of Commissioner in the European Commission.
The Greek Prime Minister Mr. Antonis Samaras during a telephone conversation with Ms Dora Bakogianni , he addressed that she will be not be running for Commissioner. Although her name sounded strongly as the top candidate to succeed Maria Damanaki, according to information of the Cabinet Office to protothema.gr the  new Commissioner of the European Commission will be Dimitris Avramopoulos.

The current Minister of National Defense Mr.  Dimitris Avramopoulos, is almost absolute certainty the person who will succeed Maria Damanaki as one of the members of the new College of Commissioners under the new Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.

According to the Prime Ministers associates, the telephone conversation was in good terms. Mr. Samaras explained to the former Minister of Foreign Affairs the reasons of which she will not be the Greek proposal for the post of Commissioner in the European Commission.
