It was nothing but expected that one of the most renowned tales of the Greek mythology, featuring ancient Greece’s most robust and brave hero, Hercules, be filmed in his own homeland.
Unfortunately, as explained in a video clip of the greekreporter.com site, no government official turned up in order for the talks to initiate.
This new movie, whose subject is the life of Hercules, features Dwayne ”the rock” Johnson. As Evan Spiliotopoulos, the movie’s scriptwriter reveals, when the producers as well as Dwayne himself thought of actually doing all the filming in Greece, they were rejected.
According to the scriptwriter, ”instead of attracting international cinema productions, we dismiss them”.
”The scouters sent to Greece by the producers were unable to establish contact with any government official in order to explore details and possible facilitations on behalf of the government. On the contrary, Budapest was more than willing to extend a welcoming hand, including VAT exclusion or the assistance of the Hungarian Army”.
It brings nothing but a feeling of shame among Greeks to hear the interview of a Greek Hollywood producer regarding the degradation of the State, let alone to think the jobs that such a movie would create.
