Over four million TV viewers in Attica, the Saronic Gulf, central and southern Evia, and the western coast of the Cyclades, on Friday gained access to the digital terrestrial signal, meaning that viewers will have to retune their television sets or decoders.
This is the second time that there has been a signal switch-off in these areas as 11 analogue-signal broadcasting centers in Attica and Evia now pass into the digital age.
“Hymettus” and “Aegina” centers already transmitting digital signals have now switched over to their final broadcast frequencies.
Those wishing to tune in or re-tune their receivers can do so in a few simple steps.
For TVs with built-in MPEG-4, viewers need to press the button labeled “Menu” on their TV remote control and select “Settings”. For TVs with an external MPEG-4 decoder, audiences need to press the button labeled “Menu” on their remote control and select “Install”.
“Auto Setup” should be selected to automatically find and store all available frequencies. Depending on the device, this option may be referred to as “Auto Search” or “Automatic Scanning”. Those wishing to save the frequencies as desired, can also select “Manual Tuning”.
Click “OK” or “Yes” or the corresponding command of their device to complete the process. Press “Exit” to exit the menu.
