Today at the Maximou Mansion after a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Mr. Antonis Samaras and with the participation of the Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Evangelos Venizelos and Deputy Minister of Finance Mr. Christo Staikoura, the Minister of education Mr. Adreas Loverdos said that a very important decision was taken. “To adapt to what applies in the countries of the western hemisphere, especially in the EU, to release the single payment authority research centers of private law, institutes, special accounts universities, TEI and research centers belonging to the public ‘ he said.
He also added that in this way, “next to the cutting funding measure which in no way allows to set up new universities, the ability to fund itself and may be directed either in EU programs or private initiative is added.”
Moreover, he further noted that this countermeasure cuts 12% – 18% in universities and TEIs and 30% in terms of research.
