Revolutionary Struggle Member Nikos Maziotis told Efimerida ton Syntakton that his group was responsible for the “hit” outside the Bank of Greece building in April. The hit was due to the fact that “the Permanent Representative of the International Monetary Fund in Greece” is located there. Maziotis defended the group and said that he had always been aware that he may have to end up in prison as the price for his choices.
During the interview, he expressed regret that citizens were injured during his arrest in downtown Athens. He said that the injuries were caused by “fragments and not the bullets of the gun.”
“Whoever thinks he is a fighter or an anarchist and believes he should act within the limits of the law had better join a parliamentary party, join the system and not pretend to be a fighter, a rebel or an anarchist,” he said.
