In a letter addressed to the government, the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece expressed on Wednesday its objections to the operation of crematoriums within the parish council cemeteries.

The Synod also raised objections regarding the right of the family of the deceased to decide whether they should be cremated or buried, as the Church believes that the decision should be made by the individual while they were still alive.
