Kefalogianni arrived on Wednesday to attend a conference organised by the Belgian Embassy and the island in honour of Andreas Vesalius, the ‘father of anatomy’. “I am here following Zakynthos mayor and the Belgian ambassador’s invitation. I will have the opportunity to see how the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with other ministries can help local authorities to enrich the tourism product and improve the island’s infrastructure to attract more tourists, throughout the year and of course to develop thematic tourism”.

Referring to the religious tourism Kefalogianni said “We cooperate with the Church of Greece to promote the religious and pilgrimage tourism and Zakynthos can become the pylon for the development of the religious tourism in Greece. We are also interested in developing the sea tourism but we need to upgrade the infrastructures in order to succeed that ”.

Kefalogianni visited the St. Dionysios church, where she was received by the metropolitans of Zakynthos and Dodoni and she was guided around the Church museum.
