Deputy Development Minister Gerasimos Giakoumatos said that the government will have finalised and submit to Parliament the settlements for “red loans” by the end of October replying to a question posed by DIMAR’s MP Asimina Xyrotiri.

Mr. Giakoumatos argued that the government knows the problems that thousands of Greek debtors are facing and is working on the best possible solution for their relief.

He also said that ministry’s basic priority is to protect 100,000 very small enterprises with about 4.5 billion euros debt to banks and ensure the sustainability of these enterprises by creating a framework which will also include extra judicial agreements between the borrower and the bank, elongation of their loan repayment schedule and adjustments for debts towards the state and insurance funds.
