A lawsuit against the general secretary of the Golden Dawn party, Nikos Michaloiakos, as well as Elias Kasidiaris, on the offense of defamation, was filed by Elias Stavrou, former Golden Dawn parliamentary candidate. This is a key-witness for the investigations against the Golden Dawn as he has allegedly provided investigators with important data of the party as a “criminal organization”. Elias Stavrou reproached both imprisoned parliament members for the offense of defamation, because as stated in his testimony to investigators, the Golden Dawn leaders characterized him as psychologically abnormal and mentally ill.
