According to Suddeutsche Zeitung the Greek Prime Minister Mr. Antonis Samaras spoke of an over 20 million tourists for 2014 which would make “a new record for the depended on tourism country”.

A huge increase is noted by Thomas Cook as well, while the Tui club through the summer season transported a record number of over 400.000 people to Greece.

The newspaper made a reminder that Greece during 2012 went through a deep crisis which resulted for many visitors due to the uncertainty on the future of the country to choose a different holiday destination instead.

According to a representative of Thomas Cook, the fact that tourists have began to come to Greece once again is because the many changes and improvements that have been made. For example many hotel owners have upgraded their facilities in order to offer more sophisticated tourist services, for example, the Adults-Only-Hotels (only for adults).

From its side, a representative of Tui stressed to the newspaper that: ” there was never doubt about Greece’s potential”.

Further the newspaper refer to the importance of the price fall that has been noted in Greece.
