Government spokeswoman responds to SYRIZA’s statement on NERIT

Sofia Voultepsi said that all party leaders were given the chance to present their activities at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) in only one broadcast.

In response to SYRIZA’s announcement on state broadcaster NERIT earlier on Friday, Government spokeswoman Sofia Voultepsi said that all party leaders were given the chance to present their activities at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) in only one broadcast.

“How many does Tsipras want? Apparently more than the others,” Ms. Voultepsi said, adding that SYRIZA, despite submitting a censure motion against NERIT, acknowledged today that it had a privileged communication with the “formation” it allegedly boycotted.

She underlined that SYRIZA worked behind the scenes to secure full and free-of-charge coverage of all of the party’s activities in Greece and abroad as well as privileged treatment compared to other parties.

It should be noted that earlier on Friday, main opposition SYRIZA accused the government of “an unprecedented, for the post-Junta period, effort to prevent the public broadcaster NERIT from airing the main opposition party leader’s speech at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) on Saturday evening.”
