Greek youth goes Gaga (photos+videos)

Why go sightseeing when you're the biggest, hottest sight in the city?

Newsroom September 19 09:46

Panic ensued late on Thursday at Syntagma Square as 1,000 young fans crowded outside the Grande Bretagne hotel where Lady Gaga is staying. The Lady Gaga fans, known as Little Monsters, waited to catch a glimpse of their idol for hours on the pavement, turning the street outside the hotel into one big Lady Gaga party zone.

Much to their dismay, the famous diva cancelled Thursday’s program that included a visit to the Acropolis and sightseeing at historic Plaka, choosing instead to relax inside the confines of the luxury hotel enjoying seafood prepared by her personal chef.

She is fully aware that her Little Monsters were camping outside but she declined giving them a mini performance similar to the one they were treated to at the Eleftherios Venizelos Athens International Airport where Lady Gaga had arrived decked out as a Boticellian goddess with a seashell bra.

It appears that the star is gathering her strength for Friday night’s big concert of Olympic proportions at the OAKA Stadium, a pit stop in Lady Gaga’s artRave: the ARTPOP ballrocking world tour.

Or, an alternative version, is that she may be enjoying her stay at the hotel too much to leave!
