The October issue of Travel + Leisure magazine, one of the world’s most-read publications, features an article that focuses “on picture-perfect coastal destinations, from pastel Caribbean towns to European fishing villages.”

The list includes 18 picturesque coastal getaways around the world that are welcoming an influx of travelers. According to the article, citing UN World Tourism Organization, the allure of a coastal getaway drew about 250 million visitors to the Mediterranean alone in 2008.

Among the beautiful coastal destinations we find Oia in Santorini, “one of T+L’s most-pinned travel photos”.

“With just one glance, you can see why Oia appeals to so many travelers. Perched on cliffs above the sea, it’s the romantic blue-and-white Greek town that has launched thousands of cruise-ship vacations,” says Travel + Leisure magazine.

The list of the most beautiful coastal destinations according to T+L magazine also includes Polperro in England, Saint George’s in Bermuda, Manarola in Italy, Kotor in Montenegro, Lunenburg in Canada and Sidi Bou Said in Tunisia.
