One day after the torrential rain that caused major damages and flooding in several neighborhoods in the Attica region, the worst-affected areas are overwhelmed by the sheer scale of destruction.

In the neighborhoods of Ilion Municipality close to Vourvahi Street there are houses completely destroyed and many of the locals have lost all of their belongings.

According to the locals, yesterday’s downpour was so heavy that it created a torrent racing through the streets. Parked cars were submerged up to the windows and there were also fallen trees and other damages of public property.

Minister of Interior Argiris Dinopoulos is currently visiting the area, to show his support to the locals who are still waiting for the Municipality representatives to come and record the damages.
