Tim Cook declares “proud to be gay”

Apple boss publicly admits his sexual preferences

Newsroom October 30 09:21

The boss of Apple gives himself the answer to those who wonder whether ‘he is or not ” in an confession article published in Bloomberg Businessweek.
53 year old head of the technology giant admitted it had not been an easy decision.
“While I have never denied my sexuality, I haven’t publicly acknowledged it either, until now. So let me be clear: I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts god has given me”.
According to Mr. Cook many of his colleagues at Apple knew that he was gay and did not seem to have changed anything in the way they treated him. As he characteristically says: “Of course, I had the good fortune to work in a company that loves the creativity and innovation, and knows that it can flourish only when one embraces diversity. Not everyone is so lucky. ”
But why did he decide to make this announcement right now?
“Throughout my professional life, I’ve tried to maintain a basic level of privacy. I come from humble roots and i don’t seek to draw attention to myself” and adds that he wanted instead to emphasize his job and the unique products of Apple.
