The cooperation prospects between Russia and Greece on the sectors of tourism and energy were discussed today during Macedonia-Thrace Minister Giorgos Orfanos’ meeting with the Russian ambassador to Greece Andrey Maslov.

After the meeting, Mr. Maslov expressed his hope that the two countries will surpass the difficulties due to the international situation and expand their cooperation.

In regard to the Russian embargo on food, the Russian envoy stressed that although the Greek people were hit by the sanctions, this was not Russia’s choice and added that Greek-Russian cooperation is not only the fruit and vegetables, making specific reference to tourism and culture, areas that have very good prospects, according to Mr. Maslov.

On his part, the Greek minister expressed his hope that a solution will be found soon regarding the sanctions.
