Greek weddings for Russians are gaining popularity in Russia with an increasing number of Russian couples choosing to host their wedding ceremony in Greece. The prefered destination of choice is the Parthenon in Halkidiki, named after the Athens Parthenon. Usually, they go all out for an Ancient Greek theme combining the Christian ceremony with pagan elements. Even the priest wears a toga making it seem a bit like Vegas but with Greek sea, sun and sand.

Seeing the demand, a travel agency is promoting these weddings to Russian couples.
