Elias Kasidiaris appeared before the Ethics Committee wearing shorts and slippers. The committee visited Korydallos prison in order to listen to his testimony on the case of the illegal recording of his conversation with the then Secretary General of the Government, Takis Baltakos.
The Golden Dawn MP wore athletic shorts and a green sleeveless t-shirt, leaving his swastika uncovered shamelessly. When the committee members admonished him about it, he stated that he was under the impression that the meeting is not within the framework of parliamentary procedures, so he wore his prison attire.
Regarding the substance of the case itself, he stated that he is not the person who recorded the talk, while he reiterated the positions of the far-right party on not recognizing the prosecutor’s investigation. However, the Parliamentary plenary, except for Golden Dawn MP Dimitris Koukoutsis, decided to lift Mr. Kasidiaris’ MP immunity.
