Turkey will not stop investigations in the Cypriot EEZ

During the meeting between the Turkish Prime Minister and the Vice President of the United States Ahmet Davutoglu spoke of the need for immediate commencement of negotiations between Greek and Turkish Cypriots.

However, not along after in a conference on energy Mr. Davoutoglou stated that Turkey will continue its surveys in the south of Cyprus if the Greek Cypriots proceed with the exploitation of the deposits.

The Turkish Prime Minister sent the message that “If both communities in Cyprus accept that the islands wealth belongs to all, then everyone will be a winner”.

Further, Ahmet Davutoglu referred of how Turkey easily be the main consumer of Cypriot exported gas and emphasized the need to exploit the natural wealth in order to solve the Cyprus issue.

He concluded by stating that: “Peace must be achieved without any delay” and  added: “Let’s use this opportunity to find a solution to this problem.”
