According to a leak from Brussels sources which was broadcasted by the national TV station NEPIT, there is certainty both in the Prime Minister’s office and in the Ministry of Finance that a deal with the Troika will be established within next week. Thus concluding the impending issue of evaluation.
However, the government has not been officially notified.
Statements made by Shauble indicate the same, since according to him the Greek issue will be discussed at the Eurogroup at the beginning of next week and once the evaluation closes then the debate on the credit support line in December will open.
Although both the Maximou Mansion and the Ministry of Finance avoid making any statements as to when Troika will return, they express optimism and estimate that by the middle of next week they will have reached an agreement with Troika and the evaluation will finally close.
From his side the Greek Minister of Finance made the following statement at the conference of Greek-American Chamber: “There has been significant progress in negotiations with Troika. We have closed several issues and we are working hard to close the rest in order to avoid returning to the uncertainty of the past, since the Greek economy has now stabilized and has entered into a positive growth. After the election of President of the Republic the growth can be even greater since there will be no more uncertainty”, added Mr. Gikas Hardouvelis.
