Democratic Left chairman, Fotis Kouvelis, sees an open road to elections, according to statements he made coming out of the House, a few minutes after the first vote for President of the Republic ended on Wednesday night.
On the position that the DemLeft held by voting “Present” instead of “For” Stavros Dimas, Mr. Kouvelis stated that the DIMAR MPs “sent a message that dead-end solutions cannot continue”.
“The proposal brought forth by the government would continue deadlock policies which trapped Greece and society itself. Based on current results, it opens the way for elections”, concluded Mr. Kouvelis.
