Former Prime Minister George Papandreou who was forced to step aside in 2011, will reportedly return to the political scene by announcing the launch of a new party.

According to information, the announcement will be made on December 30, one day after the crucial third vote for the election of a President of the Republic. If the parliament fails to elect a president in this third and final vote, Mr. Papandreou will proceed immediately with the founding of the new party, Ethnos newspapers says.

The goal is for the party to participate in the next national elections, and Mr. Papandreou’s associates have started already to pave the path and make the necessary preparations, as they are pressed with time.
