Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras said that the Greek people will do what Parliament failed to do because the nation doesn’t want its sacrifices to be lost. The presidential decree for the dissolution for the current Parliament is expected to be issued for Tuesday and national elections will be held on January 25 or February 1.

Mr. Samaras said that the coalition government did all it could to elect a new president because he said that the majority of people wanted to prevent elections. “The majority of deputies heard the voice of reason, however a minority of 132 deputies which include the (Radical Left) SYRIZA party and the (fascist) Golden Dawn party are dragging the country to early elections,” he said.

“I am here to prevent anyone from placing the Greek position in danger in Europe,” he said, noting that the nation will learn the truth about the position in which Greece is today and the ease in which Greece could fall into “deep crisis.”

Mr. Samaras is particularly scathing of the role that the SYRIZA party and the Independent Greeks (ANEL) party played in the results of the presidential election.

A cabinet meeting will be held at 2 p.m. This meeting was decided on Sunday when it appeared that the 180 votes wouldn’t be found. According to sources, the prime minister wants elections to be held on February 1 so that the Ministry of the Interior is ready for this.
