A 29-year-old Greek sailor who was a crew member of Liberian-flagged Araevo tanker was killed when the vessel was bombed by a military aircraft in Libya.

The attack occurred while the ship was docked in the port of Derna.

According to the Hellenic Coast Guard that was notified of the tragic incident on Sunday, another man on board the ship was mortally wounded, while two other crew members were injured.

It should be noted that the Araevo’s crew has 26 crew members in total, including three Greeks, two Romanian and 21 Filipinos.
