“Greek dinner around the world” is a social media action that requires people to eat a Greek dinner, post about it and upload their photos on social media. The global event, scheduled for January 15, is aimed at promoting Greek culture and cuisine by enjoying an evening of culinary delights.
To take part, diners need to cook a Greek dinner, invite friends and family for a hearty meal and then share their photos and stories or just retweet and share other people’s stories and pictures. People can connect to the event using social media on Twitter:

“Why? Well, why not?” writes the event’s organizer Keri Douglas on her blog, 9 Muses News. “Who doesn’t love authentic Greek olives, olive oil, real feta, yogurt, honey, oregano and healthy cuisine. Personally, when our family lived in Greece after being evacuated from Beirut, the Sunday afternoon dinner at the neighborhood taverna was the highlight of the week. The music played was always joyous. The big wooden bowl filled with yogurt, walnuts and honey dribbled on top at the end of dinner was the treat. There was magic around the table at the taverna.”
