The Health and Environment ministries issued a warning on Friday, urging the Greek citizens to limit the use of fireplaces and wood-burning ovens in order to protect public health.

The warning was released following a forecast of the National Weather Service for Saturday and Sunday, according to which conditions will favor the build-up of smog.

It should be noted that this warning is addressed mainly to the people living in urban centers.
