European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker on Thursday reiteraetd that commitments made by the current Greek government must be respected by the next government, no matter who that may be.
Sspecifically, when asked how he views the political situation in Greece ahead of Sunday’s election and whether he is concerned, the former Luxembourg premier stated:
“For obvious reasons, we do not wish to get involved in the current political debate in Greece. It is up to the Greek people to decide who will govern them. The only thing we can and should say is that the commitments made by Greece must be respected by the next government, whoever that is.”
He made the comments during a press conference following a meeting with the Finnish president.
