PM Samaras: If fiscal evaluation remains incomplete, we may be excluded from ECB program

His speech warned of the problems that may arise if all sacrifices go to waste

Newsroom January 22 03:32

Prime Minister Antonis Samaras made an announcement on Thursday from his office shortly after ECB head Mario Draghi’s presentation regarding a purchase plan for T-Bills.

Mr. Samaras interpreted Mr. Draghi’s statements as thus: “The longer the evaluation is left incomplete, the longer Greece is excluded”.

“We made huge sacrifices to lose it all now. The final judgment will be passed by the Greek people”, he added.

In essence, Mr. Samaras stated that if the evaluation of the fiscal adjustment program the country is in, is incomplete, our country will not be added to the ECB bonds purchase plan.

He also blamed SYRIZA that their policies will keep the country isolated.
