Art museums of the future may come to life through virtual reality displays and touchscreen tablets that let visitors interact in unusual ways. An installation by Arnaud Pottier of BK Digital Art Company used projection mapping technology to cast new details onto the face of an ancient Greek statue of Apollo, the god of sun and music.

Apollo’s face is given new life to its eyes that were once white plastic orbs. They blink, flicker and gaze about the room. Pottier from Villeurbanne, France, isn’t the only one to use projection mapping technology to revolutionize artworks.
