Addressing an event organized by the BCA Business College in Athens, world-renowned brand strategist Peter Economides said yesterday that this is the best time to be Greek, as the crisis provides opportunities for creative Greek entrepreneurs to enter the global market.
Economides was invited by BCA to speak about the need to rebrand Greece and his speech was attended by the college’s student students, as well as prominent personalities from the professional and academic arena.
Inter alia, Peter Economides noted in his speech that, in order to build a successful brand, one must first think “why one wants to do that” instead of “what he must do.”
Using the example of startups that have found success on an international level, the famous speaker focused on the importance of the reputation of a brand, noting that “[…] brand means reputation and reputation is like footprints in the sand. We Greeks have left deep footprints and we know that.”
During his speech, Economides stressed that “the world listens and follows those who talk about interesting things, not products,” and added that “truly great brands are the ones that have something to say, that manage to align buyers with vendors”.
