The paper aired the warning while analyzing why Athens and lenders may still be on a rickety ride.
According to the article, despite Angela Merkel’s warm welcome to Alexis Tsipras in Berlin, the Greek Prime Minister again dredged out painful historical memories from World War II, which he called a “moral issue”, something that the Telegraph reports has caused a deep rift in relations between the two countries.
At the same time, while commenting on ongoing negotiations in Brussels, the British newspaper cites an economic analysis that stresses that despite promises, a list of reforms delivered by the new Greek government would once again cause disappointment.
Among others, Telegraph stresses that what has angered the country’s creditors most is the noticeably delayed steps for privatizations, a reversal of labor market liberalization and a return to once generous state pensions.
