DailyMailOnline has included three Greek beaches amongst the “best of the Mediterranean” collection.
The first is Egremni beach on the southwest coast of the Ionian island of Lefkada, off the western coast of mainland Greece. It’s remote but still draws numerous beach-goers.
The second pick in Greece is the internationally renowned Navagio Beach on Zakynthos, another of the Ionian islands. Navagio means shipwreck in Greek, and as you can see from the photograph, the beach is aptly named. The cove is reached only by boat and is surrounded by limestone cliffs, making for BASE jumping destination.
The third pick is Elafonissi Beach on the southern coast of the large island of Crete.
The website notes that the beach is best known as being a tiny island of white sand separated from the shore by a lagoon that is no more than a meter deep.
