Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis met with centrist Potami (River) leader Stavros Theodorakis at the government headquarters, Maximos Mansion, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. Theodorakis said that he discussed all possible scenarios regarding the negotiations with Greece’s international creditors. He said that he told Tsipras that his party would vote for an agreement with lenders aimed at keeping Greece in Europe.

Speaking to reporters, Theodorakis said that Tsipras told him that there are two to three moves that can be done for a deal to be reached and he stressed his hope that Greece’s EU partners would do something similar to align views.

To Potami leader stressed that the government should not play games as there is always the risk of an accident.

No sooner did Theodorakis exit, that the new socialist PASOK leader Fofi Gennimata visited the prime minister. Tsipras greeted Gennimata with warmth and congratulated her on her victory. He underlined that she is at the helm of the socialist group at a time when a lot is at stake for Greece’s future.

Leaving from the meeting, she said that “honest dialogue, understanding and a new patriotism” is necessary for Greece. She said that delay is costly and a rift is not the solution for Greece.
