At least 50 people have been killed in two explosions in the Syrian capital of Damascus, Saturday, rescue workers said. The blasts occurred in the northeast rebel-controlled area of Damascus, when the Syrian army fired missiles against the positions of rebels in the city of Douma. Rescue workers said more bodies were believed to be under the rubble of buildings where tens of families were living. Dozens have been taken to hospital seriously injured. Rescue workers said 20 bodies were identified, while 32 remained unidentified. “There are entire families still under the rubble. We couldn’t reach them yet, because as you know the process of removing debris must be done with extreme caution”, said Majd, an official from the Syrian civil defence corp, a group operating in the rebel-held areas. The UK-based Observatory for Human Right said the heavily populated areas, where at least 250,000 people lived were probabley hit by ground to ground air missiles on Saturday.
