Centrist Potami (River) party leader Stavros Theodorakis on Friday underlined that other parties burdened Greece with billions of euros in debt, yet they are still asking for absolute majorities.

“Mr. (Alexis) Tsipras lost a third of his party’s power in just a few months. His asking an absolute majority of 151 MPs, only to lose them in six months, is a comical scenario,” Theodorakis said from Thessaloniki, on the sidelines of a state-run trade exhibition held there every September. The former TV investigative and current affairs show presenter also claimed that the Greek people reject absolute majorities, pointing out no-one should take his party’s participation in a coalition government for granted.
