Deputy Finance Minister George Chouliarakis says that the government has already implemented 61% of bailout measures since July 16, when these were voted on. The Greek government hopes that – as a goodwill gesture – the country’s international creditors (EC, ECB, IMF, ESM) will manage to conduct the evaluation without the full application of the measures.
The Euroworking Group on Thursday explored Greek targets. Sources point to a number of European creditors in favor of the Greek compromise, bearing in mind that 100 prerequisites are hard to implement in just 100 days.
The government hopes to delay some issues aimed at yielding more money for the state until next year, and put aside issues such as income tax hikes planned for October as well as amend some other painful measures applicable to agriculture and VAT.

Bearing this in mind, the Finance Ministry issued a statement on Thursday addressing the criticism leveled against the government by the opposition. The statement said that the changes the government plans to make a “clear and defined” in the third bailout whereas adjustments, such as the lowering of interest rates in some debt settlement schemes, move in a “positive direction. The Finance Ministry said that it plans to tackle tax evasion and smuggling so as to increase revenue.
