About the artist Alex Ramos
I am an amateur painter without university or professional training in art. I began to paint as a stress relief from my PhD program. What you see is the result of learning by trial and error and lots of practice over the last three years. I work primarily in acrylic paint on gessoed canvas board.
I grew up in rural upstate New York, have lived in Lincoln, NE, Boston, MA, and now reside in Philadelphia, PA. I grew up vacationing in southern Maine and now frequently visit family there. Much of my artwork is inspired by these places that are so much a part of my life and personal history.
