Jean-Marc Côté and a series of other French artists created their “France in the Year 2000” series back in 1899, 1900, 1901 and 1910, to show how artists envisioned life in the year 2000. The first images were printed and enclosed in cigarette and cigar boxes during the time of the 1900 World Exhibition in Paris. Later, they were turned into postcards.
