A 29-year old Afghan migrant reportedly raped a 13-year old Afghani boy at the hotspot of VIAL on the island of Chios. The incident, which allegedly took place last Friday, came to light when the victim, reported the crime to the police. The accused rapist was arrested by the local police and is being held in custody and was charged with a felonious act by the local prosecutor. The island of Chios currently has 2,017 refugees and illegal migrants, over 1,000 of which are being hosted at the VIAL hotspot. Reports that came out a month ago make reference to tragic conditions at the hotspot,  with migrants and refugees living in very confined spaces and often resorting to violence against each other. The boy is reportedly in hospital under the supervision of an expert child psychologist.
