Aristophanes’s ‘The Birds’ a great success at Epidaurus Theatre (photos+video)

Thousands of people flocked to the ancient theatre of Epidaurus in Argolis and enjoyed the ancient classical play ‘The Birds’ by comic playwright Aristophanes. The play, performed for August 20 and 21, was directed by Nikos Karathanos. Among those in attendance were the President of Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos and former New Democracy (ND) leader Antonis Samaras. The classical play involves two friends who decide to seek a new city to live in and find the land of the birds.The birds accept the two strangers and offer them wings. They all build a wall in the skies disrupting communication between the gods and humans.
