The provocations by Turkey continued, Monday, as 4 Greek F-16 fighter jests scrambled to recognise and intercept 3 Turkish fighter jet formations, which “harassed” two Chinook military helicopters transporting the Greek Minister of Defence, Panos Kammenos, Deputy Defence Minister Dimitrisd Vitsas and 9 members of parliamentary committee on Defence and Foreign Affairs and top brass of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, from SYRIZA, ANEL and Golden Dawn, who were visiting the island of Kastelorizo in the eastern Mediterranean. The incident occurred over the island complex of Kastelorizo with the Turkish jets finally being chased out of Greek airspace. It should be noted that 4 other Turkish F-16s flew east of the area, where Turkey has planned military exercises for Tuesday. Earlier on Monday the Greek and Turkish airforces engaged in two tough “dogfights” over the islands of Chios and Lesvos.
