Best boss in the world takes employees on luxury holidays! (video-photos)

MMA businessman Sityodtong forks out half a million for his workers

Newsroom December 9 09:08

Employees of Evolve Mixed Martial Arts in Singapore enjoyed one of the most generous holiday blowouts this year after being treated to an all-expenses-paid trip at a five-star luxury resort in the Maldives. Calling the $500,000 company outing a “normal part of the Evolve culture,” Evolve MMA  founder and chairman Chatri Sityodtong told Asia One that it is just “a small token of my heartfelt gratitude to all of the phenomenal rockstars at Evolve MMA.”
According to Sityodtong, the company is simply rewarding more than 100 employees after achieving growth this year despite the slowing local economy. He stated that on top of the “strong double-digit growth every year,” the company has been registering 30% year-on-year growth throughout 2016. On the expensive trip, the company’s support staff and world champion trainers were joined by members of Evolve’s fight team, which includes ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee.
Sityodtong shared that the company has been doing this for the past five years. Evolve employees have enjoyed free luxury trips to Bali, Krabi, Khao Lak, and Bintan. “Every year, I take the entire team on an all-expenses-paid trip to a five-star luxury resort at a surprise destination,” he said.
The serial entrepreneur added that he understands how for many of his employees, enjoying such luxuries may almost be impossible. He believes that by taking them on expensive tours, he is able to fulfill their dreams. Since its opening in 2009, Evolve Mixed Martial Arts has consistently grown to become the top MMA camp in Asia. Just last year, Yahoo! Sports recognised Chatri Sityodtong as the 2nd Most Powerful Person in Asian MMA.

He splashed out a whopping $500,000 (392k GBP) to reward 100 employees with the five-star all-inclusive holiday to the paradise island. And this isn't the first time he has taken his workers for a treat. He calls the holidays a "normal part of Evolve culture" with the group enjoying previous holidays to luxurious destinations such as Bali, Krabi, Khao Lak and Bintan in Indonesia for the past five years. For them, Evolve is the greatest opportunity to escape poverty and to achieve the life of their dreams. "The best deserve the best. It is only fair. We do our best to hire the best people in the world, giving out only one job offer for every 200 applicants. So they should be compensated as such. We work hard, and we play hard. "Evolve has the best team in the world. I am very confident in my team. I believe in them 100 percent." The entrepreneur said the holidays will continue for the foreseeable future but joked he has not yet planned 2017's spectacular just yet. He said: "The world is a big place! I don't know where our annual retreat will be held next year, but I hope to take them to another spectacular place."
